Weight Loss Journey
I remember the day that I found this pirate jacket at Target three years ago. I purchased the largest size in stock and immediately took it home to start planning my pirate invasion. That Halloween, with the help of my dad I built a huge pirate ship for my church’s, fall festival. It was amazing!
Do you know what wasn’t amazing? The fit of my pirate jacket when I tried it on. The jacket wouldn’t snap and would barely event tie shut. I still wore the coat and had a fantastic night. Then, I packed the costume away and didn’t pull it out again until this Halloween.
I’ve been on my weight loss journey since February, and it has been difficult. Weight loss is not something that comes easy for me, and it’s a daily struggle. This summer was incredibly tricky, and I was easily distracted by BBQs, pizza, and dinner with friends. I’ve rebooted and started over this fall and began to see even more results.
Nine months in, I’ve lost 37 pounds and 10 inches off my waist, but I still haven’t hit my first 40-pound goal. Other than having to buy a few new items of clothing, I haven’t seen an enormous change. The lack of change was and is sometimes discouraging. Finally, this weekend that changed a bit for me. I tried on my pirate jacket for the first time in three years and was happy to see the results of my weight loss finally. This year, the coat easily snapped and tied I was elated with the results of my weight loss journey.

In case you’re wondering, I’ve been participating in New Directions Very Low-Calorie Diet (VLCD) program that utilizes Robard’s products. The program isn’t easy, but there is a support system that is great. My goal is to lose 13 more pounds before the new year.
To hit this goal, I’ll be facing Thanksgiving, my Cookie Party, Christmas, and tons of holiday celebrations while still on the plan. Yikes! That was not part of my original plan. At my intake session, I had mapped out a goal that would have seen me hit my 75-pound goal by tomorrow. That didn’t happen, but I’m still going to keep pushing through.
VLCD plans can be controversial, but they work, and my health is continuously monitored by the good folks at Bon Secour Medical Centers. Before starting this program, I tried every weight loss plan under the sun, and this is the first one that has worked for me.
Read my previous entry on VLCD plans, HERE. I shared ten facts that you need to know before you start your plan. Now, if Robard could send me a few pumpkin pies and gingerbread cookie shakes my holiday season would be a little easier to manage. My clinic isn’t carrying these items just yet, don’t worry I’m putting in my requests!
