The Valentine’s Day countdown is just about to begin! That means it’s time to fill our homes and hearts with all things related to love! A few weeks ago, I headed to AR Workshop to meet a friend and expand my holiday decor.
AR Workshop
AR Workshop is a fantastic place to catch up with friends, shop, and of course complete do it yourself projects. During this visit to the shop, I opted to make a postcard inspired piece. My wood sign had several layers and was more complicated than I had anticipated.

My friend and I arrived a few minutes late to our class, but Rebecca (our instructor and shop owner) didn’t seem to mind! One of my favorite things about the workshop is online registration platform. The site allows you to register for classes and list your friend on your registration form, guaranteeing you sit together. I also love the sweet notes the shop owners leave at the works stations when you arrive at the studio.

At AR Workshop, you not only paint and stain your sign, but you’ll also build it using power tools. I’m considering adding a nail gun to my craft supply collection! But, I think I still need supervision.

I loved this piece, and I can’t wait to revisit the workshop. My friend loved her piece as well, and its one of the first DIY pieces she’s hanging up inside her house. I’ll be back in the spring to build an Easter sign. As soon as I came home, I placed my sign above my mantle and it fit perfectly!

Still looking for Valentine’s plans, visit the AR Workshop Richmond’s site and find out about all the awesome classes they have planned. You may even catch me at one of the workshops.
