Every year, I make a small holiday treat for our neighbors. Last year, I made them each a small loaf of poppyseed cake. This year, I decided to whip up a few batches of Christmas Trash Snack Mix. The snack mix was easy to mix up and would make a great family activity. There are several recipes to make Christmas Trash, I opted to use the recipe that used Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. I think these snack mixes are going to be a hit with our neighbors this year!
Christmas Trash Snack Mix
A simple recipe that is great for festive snacking!
- 1 Box Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal
- 1 Bag Pretzels
- 1 Bag Family Size M&Ms
- 2 12oz Bags White Chocolate Portion the chocolate into three sections, and melt each section separately.
- 3 Gallon Size Ziploc Bags
Separate the cereal, pretzels, and M&Ms equally between the three Ziploc bags.
Begin melting white chocolate in the microwave. I always melt the chocolate in increments of 30 seconds until it is completely melted.
Pour melted chocolate into Ziploc bags containing snack mix. Mix the chocolate throughout the bag to cover all of the snack mixes.
Lay out the chocolate covered snack mix on wax paper.
Allow mixture to dry flat for two hours, then serve or store in an air-tight container or bag.
