Destination Gettysburg: Swope Manor

I recently took a road trip through Pennsylvania, one of my stops was historic Gettysburg. After careful consideration and pursuing TripAdvisor, I ultimately decided to book the Gettysburg Suite at Swope Manor.  While a home has stood on the Swope Manor property since 1736, the current structure was built in 1836.

I’m happy to share that Swope Manor is just as beautiful in person as it is in pictures and it is magazine perfection and the staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. Our hosts were more than happy to assist us with recommendations and suggestions for what to see around the city of Gettysburg.  The only issue we had during our stay was with the location of the Gettysburg Suite. The Gettysburg Suite is situated on the main road, and was incredibly noisy at night! But, the bathroom and the innkeepers make up for the noise.

Breakfast at Swope Manor didn’t disappoint I was incredibly impressed.  Our fellow guests were late for breakfast, but the innkeepers still served us promptly. We had a tight schedule to adhere to and didn’t want to miss our battlefield tour so we appreciated the promptness of breakfast.

Even with the noise, I’d highly recommend Swope Manor. The location of the manor is ideal; the rooms are spectacular and the innkeeper’s world class.
