The start of 2018 was hard and incredibly difficult. It was a season of loss and hardship, but then unexpectedly spring arrived. And, with spring came the most fantastic surprise… my dissertation manuscript was finally accepted, I passed my oral defense, and I found myself finally graduating.
A few weeks ago, I attended my hooding ceremony and celebrated with a small celebration at home. My graduation party was planned in less than a week and included an awesome cake, taco bar, and a houseful of family and friends. One of my favorite parts of the party was this amazing cake my parents had made for me. It was inspired by the work of Karen Hallion and combines two of my favorite things… Dr. Who and Cinderella.
I’m now officially, your friend Dr. Amanda… Now, where can a girl get her own Tardis?!?!
