Decorating for Christmas is a bit of hobby for me. I spend time throughout the year looking for unique and eclectic items. Adding meaningful pieces to new decor is a great way to add a twist to your Christmas decor. I aim to have a home that could look like a Hallmark movie set.
I have a set of vintage Santa Claus candle holders. At first glance, they look as though they are of no value, but they are priceless to me. They were a gift from my mom; their original owner was her oldest sister who passed away ten months before I was born. My aunt also happens to be my namesake; it wasn’t until adulthood that I learned I shared not only her name but also her love for Christmas. These candle holders sit on the shelf each year to remind me of the aunt I never met, but whom I know I would have loved.

My Dad takes me to see the Nutcracker almost every year and has since I was a little girl. Over the years, I’ve collected each of the Nutcracker scenes in the form of a snow globe. The snow globes along with my two Nutcrackers are reminders of all the performances that my Dad and I have seen and will see in the future.
My mother-in-law has had a ceramic Christmas tree that her mother painted for years. And, I’ve always been envious of it and asked that it be passed to me one day in the far future. Two years ago, my mother found an abandoned ceramic tree at the Goodwill. I spent some time refurbishing, cleaning it, and ordering replacement parts. Now, I have my version of my mother-in-law’s tree.

Amanda,
I have to say, this idea of an upside down Christmas tree kind of intrigues me! I did not even know this was a thing! However, After looking carefully at the Wayfair website (which btw i love that site), i would have to say that my favorite upside down Christmas tree is https://www.wayfair.com/holiday-decor/pdp/northlight-seasonal-75-famous-upside-down-artificial-christmas-tree-with-multi-light-nlgt2902.html (7.5′ Famous Upside Down Artificial Christmas Tree with Multi Light). With that being said though… I also like the Champagne colored trees as well!
I’m a bit of a traditionalist so I’m not sure how I feel about an upside down tree. I didn’t know they were such a hit! After looking, my favorite would be the:

I like the 7.5’ option because in my house it would almost look like it is coming from the ceiling (which i think would be the coolest part – it would look weird if it stopped a few feet before the ceiling, right?) and then I liked the multi colored lights because it you are going to go “fun” you have to go all the way 🙂
Congrats Kathryn! Enjoy your gift certificate, and be sure and share your purchase.
As someone who is *ahem* lacking in the height department the top part of my tree tends to get a bit neglected and the tree topper is NEVER on straight! Haha! This upside down tree adds some whimsy to traditional Christmas decor and no more cockeyed tree topper:)
