Home Decor: A Few of My Favorite Things

Jerad and I bought a construction site… I mean house two years ago and we have since spent a lot of time and money updating the home and making it “ours”.  Remodeling a second home (our first home was a fixer-upper, too), was not in my life plan… but we are loving our vintage brick cottage located perfectly in the suburbs of the River City. It’s taken blood, lots of sweat,a few tears, two failed deck inspections, backed up kitchen sink, one basement flood, and one leaking roof to get to where we are today but we wouldn’t change a thing. Except maybe the Deck of Death, or the Living Room Flood of 2016 (caused by a leak in the roof).

One of my go-to places for decor items, replacement light fixtures, and kitchen wares is Wayfair.com. All along the way, we’ve been purchasing items for our home through Wayfair.  I cannot say enough great things about their products and customer service.

Premium Faucets Single Handle Pull Down Standard Kitchen Faucet I adore this kitchen faucet. The design is clean, sleek and modern. Not to mention, there is nothing better than a tall faucet when you are washing dishes.	Rectangle Silver Vanity Wall Mirror We have a mirror similar to this one in our guest bathroom and are constantly getting compliments on it. The reflective surface on the edging means not an inch of mirror space is neglected.	2-Sided Garden Flag It’s never too early to plan your home’s Christmas decor. This flag is warm and welcoming and a MONOGRAM! Everyone knows you can’t go wrong with a monogram in your front yard.
Peoria 3 Piece Table and Floor Lamp Set This three piece lamp set is incredible. The empire shade is one of my favorite features of the set but I’m also a fan of the tapered drum. Place the table lamps on your living room side table and the tall lamp across the room.	Jessica Wall Mount Letter Holder in Black This letter holder easily mounts to the wall and allows you to sort mail and store keys! Before using this piece, our mail was always missing in action… now it’s always neatly organized on the wall.	2 Piece Chip & Dip Tray Set I’m always struggling with finding the perfect chip and dip tray to take to potlucks and BBQs, this tray is awesome. The interior bowl is attached and allows you to carry a large portion of dip. Bonus- It’s made in the USA.
Stoneware 2 Qt. Batter Bowl This is a classic piece that all Le Creuset collectors need to own. The handle is great for pouring batter into pans and the stoneware construction is unbeatable.	Coombs 58″ TV Stand This TV stand was complicated to put together, but the end result was amazing. It is a phenomenal addition to our basement family room.	Traditional Wood Coat Stand I needed a coat rack for our foyer, and I had a terrible time locating one. I was fortunate to find this beauty that perfectly and keeps all our coats and hats neatly organized.
Stretch Pique Ottoman Slipcover Finding an ottoman cover to match our sofa set and living room decor, but this item fits wonderfully. Our 65lb lab finds the fabric especially soft.	3 Piece Ceramic Standing turtle No Evil Figurine Set This unique set of three figurines is a constant reminder to hear no evil, speak no evil, and to hear no evil. I have them set in my home office as a constant reminder to be kind to others.	54 Gal. Tumbler Composter This summer we wanted to make our own compost. This medium sized composter has been the perfect addition to our outdoor garden. It tumbles easily and takes up minimal space in the backyard.
Stretch Pique Wing Chair Slipcover I loved my parent’s wingback chair growing up, and recently they handed it down to me. Unfortunately, reupholstering the chair is not in my budget. But, this slipcover has given the chair a new lease on life.	Pet Crate End Table) This item is on my top ten want list. It is functional and stylish, and what better place for your pet’s bed to be than hidden in your bedside table! I know my pup would adore being that close.	Knopp Gray Area Rug This rug was the perfect addition to my living room. I wanted to keep a monochromatic design and stay within my gray color scheme. This rug not only matched the room but featured a geometric design… and geometric designs are my favorite!
Stars and Cherries Pie Top Cutter I enjoy baking pies and cutting out crust designs, but sometimes I don’t have time to decorate the pies by hand. In those instances this pie top cutter is the perfect solution, it makes crust cutting simple and quick.	Tortoise Family Resin Garden Accents Statue Turtles always bring back memories of Ocean Isle, NC vacations. Growing up there was a man who walked his turtle! Yes, walked his turtle down the beach. I fell in love with that turtle, and love to add accent turtle pieces to my home to keep the memory alive.
