Knitting: Princess Leia Hat

Princess Leia is the definition of a self-rescuing princess. In fact, I have a t-shirt from Her Universe that says just that! Seriously though, Leia is my favorite female character in the Star Wars Universe. She’s a princess, general, and perfectly capable of saving herself.

Princess Leia Knit Hat

It should come as no surprise that I made a knitted Leia hat for baby girl. I’ve knitted this hat several times, in fact, I placed 2nd at the county fair with this project in 2019.

I located this pattern on Ravelry several years ago, and I find it easy to follow and adjust to a variety of sizes. I’ve made the hat for infants, toddlers, and children.

For my latest project, I ordered Knit Picks (Sienna). The Sienna color was perfect for this project and I can’t wait to see it on our baby. As with a few of my other knit projects, I did make some adjustments to the source patterns. I used half the required strands to create my Leia buns, and I sewed the buns together before attaching them to the base hat.

I’m really into knitting infant hats right now, I’ve got plans for a few festive hats. Do you have a favorite infant knit pattern? I’d love to see it!
