Memorial Day is a somber occasion to remember those who have lost their lives in service to our country. This Memorial Day, I decided to update my holiday decor with this military-inspired wreath. The wreath was incredibly simple to make but did take a few hours. However, the process was fairly simple and could be replicated for a variety of themes and fabrics. I love this Memorial Day Wreath! I couldn’t be happier.
Materials Needed
- 2 yards of 60″ fabric
- A Rotary Cutter
- Rotary Mat
- 12″ Wire Wreath Form
- Yellow Ribbon
Directions
- Cut fabric into 1″ x 6″ strips using the rotary cutter and board.

- Begin tying the strips to the metal wreath until the wreath is covered in strips. I did this process in phases over a period of days.

- Finish the wreath with a bright ribbon. I used yellow in honor of our troops.

My mom made a similar wreath using a heart wireframe, and it came out adorable as well.

I normally host a small celebration to honor Memorial Day. This year, thanks to the pandemic our celebration is going to be very small and there will be no lazy pool days this weekend. But, I’m incredibly thankful for our health, and staying home on Memorial Day is a small sacrifice for us to make this year. How do you plan to celebrate Memorial Day?
