St. Patrick’s Day is next week, and we’ve been reading about the Irish and Leprechauns since the start of the month. Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, and it’s one I hope to pass down to Adeline. Her book collection started before she even arrived with a request for children’s books in place of cards at our baby shower. It’s only grown since thanks to vintage additions from mine and Jerad’s childhood libraries. We’re also HUGE fans of our local library. I may or may not have checkout every Halloween & Halloween book in our library’s collection this fall. The best part about reading to Adeline right now is that I get to choose our book selections.
As you have probably already guessed, she has a strong collection of holiday books! But for now, I’m sharing three of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day books.
The Berenstain Bears’ St. Patrick’s Day

I’m a sucker for classic books, and is any child’s book collection complete without a few Berenstain Bears books? If you’re still guessing the answer is no!
This book like all Berenstain Bears books is adorable, I giggled allowed as Gramps explained to the family that was part Bearish (Irish) and their ancestors were from far away Bearland (Ireland). The book goes into a retelling of St. Patrick’s great miracles, the legend of leprechauns, and ends with the family heading to Main Street for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. The family may or may not have spotted a leprechaun while dressed festively in their green holiday apparel. Pick up your copy of The Berenstain Bears’ St Patrick’s Day from Amazon.
How to Catch a Leprechaun

How to Catch a Leprechaun is part of the widely popular How to Catch series of books for kids. This Christmas, we read How to Catch a Reindeer and loved it! Obviously, I added How to Catch a Leprechaun and How to Catch the Easter Bunny to our reading lists.
Guided by the mischievous Leprechaun, children are taken on a journey through all the attempts other children have made to try and catch the Leprechaun. It seems no one’s attempts have been successful, but I think in a few year’s Adeline will set the perfect trap! Grab your copy of How to Catch a Leprechaun on Amazon.
The Itsy Bitsy Leprechaun

The Itsy Bitsy Leprechaun is a short board book that’s colorful and fun! Following along on a variation of the Itsy Bitsy Spider themed to St. Patrick’s Day and Leprechauns. Adeline has started to grab at book pages and she seems to love the bright colors of this one the best! It’s also a quick read for exhausted parents. Grab your copy of Itsy Bitsy Leprechaun on Amazon.
What’s your favorite St. Patrick’s day book? I’d love to expand our St. Patrick’s Day collection?
