And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been. – Rainer Marie Rilke
I stopped making New Year’s Resolutions last year. In January 2016, I resolved to live a simpler life. Funny story… 27 days after I made this resolution, I fell and broke my hip and spent the next five months on bed rest. That spring, I decided not to make any further New Year’s Resolutions.
However, I love the freshness of New Year’s Day. In fact, I love it so much… Jerad and I chose to get married on New Year’s Day a few years ago. It was a fabulous celebration, and I still look fondly at our wedding photos.
I love that our anniversary is on a holiday, and we are always off to celebrate. This year, we will be celebrating with a traditional New Year’s dinner of ham, cabbage, and black-eyed peas. Following dinner, we’re headed to Christmas Town where we are sure to freeze! But, I want to savor the Christmas season for one more day.
May 2018 be your best year yet.
