I LOVE Yankee Candles. Seriously, before the Scenterpiece system, I kept copious amounts of candles around the house. But, the moment the Scenterpiece system was released… I immediately upgraded. Today, there are four Scenterpiece systems around the house… So, maybe I am a candle hoarder.
The official Easy MeltCup from Yankee Candle, will set you back $4.99 and be used for 24 hours. After a few months, I realized I was wasting a lot of plastic cups. That’s when it dawned on me that I could reuse my Easy MeltCups and do a little candle recycling
To begin, I took one of my used Easy MeltCups and then I placed the cup in the freezer overnight. The next day, turn the Easy MeltCup over, and the old wax will pop out. I then threw the used wax away.
I regularly purchase tarts and keep them in my drawer. For this re-use, I picked Yankee Candle’s, Pink Sands because I have an addiction. Seriously, is there a support group for Yankee customers. Once you’ve selected your scent, place the tarts in the Easy MeltCup.
I then place the Easy MeltCup in the Scenterpiece system. My personal favorite Scenterpiece is the white pineapple. You can purchase it HERE.
This hack doesn’t save you a lot of money… $1 to be exact. But, you’ll reuse the plastic cup and that seems a lot like recycling. Happy Melting…
